The Soul Shack is operated by FNQ Occupational Therapy, an NDIS registered provider (Therapeutic Supports, Innovative Community Participation, Assist-Travel Transport, Household Tasks).
Participants are able to use both ‘Core’ and ‘Capacity Building’ funding within their NDIS plan, to access support with The Soul Shack.
We are able to support NDIA managed, plan managed and self-managed participants. Invoices are provided with the relevant NDIS codes and prices.
A service agreement is written, and consent provided from the participant prior to commencement of supports.
Please complete the enquiry form if you require a quote and further explanation of how our services can be funded using your NDIS plan. You could also contact your LAC, service coordinator or plan manager for further clarification.
Short Term Accommodation (STA) is a short stay away from home. It gives you the chance to try new things, make new friends, develop new skills, and/or help to maintain your current living situation by giving your informal supports a break. https://ourguidelines.ndis.gov.au/supports-you-can-access-menu/home-and-living-supports/short-term-accommodation-or-respite
NDIS usually funds up to 28 days per year for STA, in blocks of up to 14 days at a time.
STA is funded from the participants’ Core funding. It does not need to be a specific item written in the NDIS plan.
The STA rate covers all supports, meals, accommodation, activities and outings. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for the participant.
The five-day stay is typically charged at NDIS price guide rate of 1:2 ratio STA support.
Some participants may need an increase to 1:1 ratio if they have high support needs. The cost for this will be at the 1:1 ratio STA rate.
Individual Respite/STA outside of the group program is charged at NDIS price guide rate of 1:1 STA support.
This may be reduced to 1:2 rate if there is another suitable participant at The Soul Shack at the same time.
The five-day intensive program is charged at the same rate as STA/Respite.
It is funded from the participants’ Capacity Building funding (this is in addition to the 28 days available under Core funding).
The Soul Shack has absorbed all costs for meals, accommodation, activities, and outings provided during the intensive capacity building program.
Invoices will be provided with the NDIS price guide codes under Capacity Building i.e. Occupational Therapy and Allied Health Assistant Intervention.
Occupational Therapy assessments, interventions, risk assessments, program development, travel, and report writing are charged at the NDIS price guide rate.
Travel is charged at NDIS price guide rate.
